Established in 1998 and incorporated in 2016, Brian Luey Architect Inc. is an architectural design firm registered to practice within the Province of Ontario. The firm continues to build on over 35 years of professional experience in project design and practice management to provide architectural consulting services to corporate, governmental and private clients throughout Ontario. Brian Luey Architect Inc., as a small practice with a staff of five, offers direct principal participation in all aspects of each project we engage. Through strategic partnering we collaborate with the necessary professional teams to complete a broad range of project types and scales.

Brian Luey

Since graduating from the University of Waterloo in 1977, Brian has aquired skills in all aspects of architectural practice through progressive career development and in-depth involvement in project design, technical documentation and construction execution. He is familiar with municipal planning and development processes, building codes, and construction contracts. A registered professional architect since 1981, Brian brought over 20 years of experience to his own practice established in 1998 and the incorporated practice recently established in 2016. Previously, as senior architect in a multi-disciplined Architectural/Engineering firm, he was responsible for all areas of project development and practice management. Work experience types have included, arts, education, library, research, recreation, religious, commercial and industrial facilities and work on historic structures. He was formerly a member of the Ontario Association of Architects Council, the OAAAS board and remains on the advisory committee for Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, Architectural Engineering/Technology Program.
Edward Brabenec
Senior Technologist ~ Partner
B.Tech (Arch. Sci.), MAATO
A graduate of Ryerson University's Architecture program in 1996, Mr. Brabenec has twenty years of project exposure on numerous building types, from airport facilities design to various industrial, commercial and institutional projects. Edward's involvement and experience has covered all project phases and aspects. His experience includes condition assessment, detailed design and responsibility for client and consultant coordination, site and code reviews, as well as approvals processes with various authorities having jurisdiction.
Jeffrey Bird
Intermediate Technologist

Mr. Bird has been a member of Brian Luey Architect's team since 2010 with experience ranging from infrastructure, to commercial, and institutional projects. He has been involved in all stages of project development from pre-design, to working drawings, to construction administration. This has included conceptual renderings, cost estimates, the creation of construction documents, site and shop drawing review.
Farshid Niaki
Architect
OAA
A registered professional architect, Farshid Niaki, brings 22 years of extensive experience and project insights. The variety of project types include places worship, recreational, institutional, commercial and industrial facilities, feasibility studies and historical buildings. His responsibilities have range in all areas of project development and management.
His education and experience are well suited for the firm. After being granted a Master’s degree in architecture, Farshid felt he needed to further broaden his education. He received a second Master’s in International Architectural Regeneration and Development (IARD) from Oxford Brookes University in the UK.
The Educational and work experience has fostered an interdisciplinary approach to his projects that combines critical thinking and analysis with creative design. He advocates the re-use and integration of existing buildings, utilizing his skill, knowledge of state-of-the-art technology to weave new and old together into contemporary building and development solutions.
